What is Sustainability Week?
EWB-SJSU is working with the Environmental Resource Center and the SMART (Sustainable Markets and Responsible Trade) Project Committee to plan Sustainability Week 2007 from April 16th through 19th, 2007.
Sustainability Week will be devoted to:

enhancing campus awareness of the current effects of globalization on human society and the natural environment, and
-
motivating people to foster positive social and environmental changes at a grassroots level.
Buy Our Coffee! It's Fair Trade Organic!
We'll be selling bags of fair trade, organic coffee at the Fair Trade Faire! This is a great opportunity for you to get involved, meet new people, raise money, and get the word out about EWB.
We need volunteers to help us sell coffee during Sustainability Week. Just send us an email and let us know when you can help. Sign up for a 1-hour slot and join the fun!
When: 9:30am - 4pm, Tue-Thur (4/17-19).
Where: SJSU, 7th Street Plaza (Look for all the vendors.)

EWB's Events
We're hosting two speakers from the San Francisco Professional chapter of EWB (EWB-SFP). They'll be speaking about their projects and fostering sustainable development.
When: 11am - 1pm, Wednesday (4/18).
Where: Almaden Room, SJSU Student Center
Other Events
Other major events will be organized around SJSU Earth Day (April 18th), and they will include headlining speakers, panel discussions, movie showings, music, informational displays and booths, and the sale of fair trade crafts. Topics will include:

appropriate and sustainable energy and technology

Get Involved
We would like to invite you and your department to get involved:

Volunteer to speak on a discussion panel.

Ask your Department to sponsor/endorse Sustainability Week.

Offer your students extra credit for attending Sustainability Week events.

Offer your students extra credit for volunteering during Sustainability Week.

Ask proactive students to join the Sustainability Week planning committee.

Bring your class to a movie, panel discussion, or speaker event.

Integrate your course with related assignments/projects.

Display related student projects during Sustainability Week or at Earth Day.
